Mr. James “JJ” Lee Jarrell, age 58, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. JJ was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Chriss L. & Mary Douglas Jarrell. After graduating high school JJ proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, retiring in 2003. He was employed as a contractor for the Department of Defense. JJ enjoyed playing golf and bowling - and was certified by the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame for 3 perfect games; earring him bowling league rings for each game as well as his name being permanently inscribed in Hometown Heroics. In his spare time, he worked to restore a drag racing car and occasionally raced it locally. He passed along his love of Michigan athletics to his family who now carry on that love. He greatly enjoyed being with his family and grilling it the backyard.
JJ is preceded in death by his parents, Chriss L. & Mary Douglas Jarrell. He is survived by his children, Joshua James Jarrell and Brittany Nicole (Clayton) Walden; their mother, Nancy Joy Jarrell; grandson, Cuyler Walden; sister Elaine (Moe) Letchworth; brothers Larry (Bobbi) Smith, Jake (Sue) Roberson, and Chriss Jarrell III; and a host of family, loved ones, and friends.
The family invites you to celebrate JJ's life on Saturday, June 5, 2021 between the hours of 11:00am - 2:00pm at Forest Lake Bible Church, in Niceville.
