Mary Frances Rodgers McDaniel, 94, of Niceville, FL, passed away on October 21, 2022.
She was born on March 2, 1928, to Henry F. Rodgers and Ida T. Green Rodgers in Damascus (Early County), Georgia. She was the youngest of 5 siblings. She will be remembered as a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a wonderful, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. As a military wife for more than 20 years she lived in numerous places with her husband and family including England and Japan. She is a long-time member of First Church on Bayshore and dearly loved her Phoebe Sunday School class and its members. She enjoyed Tuesday morning Bible Study and all the church Legacy activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Gaskin McDaniel, and her parents, and siblings, Sarah Jewel Martin, Henrietta Melvin, Henry Jack Rogers, and Daniel F. Rogers. She is also predeceased by her niece, Betty Hunt Irvin, nephews TC Hunt, Jr., and Henry Jackson Rogers as well as a son-in-law, Lawrence J. Fugate.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Joe) Causby, Roger (Lavonia) McDaniel, Brenda Fugate, and John (Lisa) McDaniel. She is survived by her 6 grandchildren, Roger McDaniel II, Riley Trae McDaniel, Radly (Leslie) McDaniel, Jessica (Daryn) Isbell, Rena (Ted) Barker, and Rilie McDaniel. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church on Bayshore in Niceville, Fl.
The family will receive visitors one hour preceding the service at the church at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Floral Memory Garden Cemetery in Albany, GA on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 1:00 PM under the care of Mathews Funeral Home. www.mathewsfuneralhome.com
