Sabra B. Weeks

September 19, 1930 ~ July 3, 2021 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Tribute

Sabra B. Weeks, age 90 of Walton County, Florida, went to her eternal rest in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus in the early morning of July 3, 2021, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Sabra was born September 19, 1930, to A. C. “Nick” Hulion and Bessie Courtney Hulion.  Sabra was a homemaker for most of her adult life but also worked outside the home from time to time.

She was a loving and devoted wife of 68 years to her husband Edward, whom she dearly missed since his passing 6 years ago.   Sabra was a loving and giving mother to her 3 girls, Paulette, Kay, and Lynn, a caring granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she touched the lives of so many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  Sabra deeply loved her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, whom she gave her life to as a young wife and mother standing at the ironing board ironing.  Although her life was certainly not free from struggles and challenges, she could often be seen reading her Bible and praying for her family and friends.

Sabra had a huge heart to help others when she could.  Over the years, she served at her local church, teaching Vacation Bible School and being a faithful giver.  She loved tending to her flower gardens, canning fruits and vegetables, crocheting blankets, and cooking delicious meals for her family.  For most of her life, she was a social butterfly, never meeting a stranger, making fast friends with neighbors, and enjoying long conversations about whatever happened to be on her mind.

Sabra leaves to cherish her memory daughters Kay Littell, (husband Bill Littell) and Lynn Wicker, (husband Russ Wicker); seven loving grandchildren and many wonderful great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other family members and many, many friends.

Sabra is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her oldest daughter, Paulette Weeks, and three grandsons, Christopher Bailey, Weston Hobby, and Adam Hobby.  She was the last surviving sibling of all of her loving siblings:  Elbert Hulion, Milbra Richardson, Ruby Blackwell, and Mary Carlisle.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8th from 10:00-11:00 CT at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville, Florida with a Celebration of Life service following at 11:00 CT with Mr. Al Stearns officiating.  Interment will follow at New Harmony Church Cemetery in New Harmony Community, Florida.

Sabra’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Avery Place Memory Care, the staff and volunteers at Winterville Baptist Church, the staff at Moundville Health and Rehab and the caring medical professionals and chaplain at Comfort Care Hospice.  The family is forever grateful for the attention and care you provided to mother.

Although we are deeply grieved by Sabra’s home going, we are thrilled beyond words that her earthly struggles are now over and we look forward with great expectation to our great family reunion one sweet day!
