Tribute

William Allen (Bill) Dannelly, 76, was born on December 16, 1945 in Pensacola, FL to Clarence and Mattie Lou Dannelly. Bill grew up in Pensacola, graduated from Pensacola High School and went on to serve as a Captain in the United States Army.  After marrying Pam Hulbert in 1969, he continued to serve our country as a pilot in the Vietnam War, flying missions in a Bird Dog airplane, a position he was proud of and talked about the rest of his life.  Bill and Pam had two sons, William Christopher and Jeffrey Allen. Following his six year military service, Bill worked as a United States Post Office mail carrier for over 30 years.  Bill was a Master Mason with Escambia Lodge 15 and a member of The Pensacola Scottish Rite. He was an integral part of Pensacola First United Methodist Church and helped raise a family who was well loved in their community.  The church’s music ministry and its members brought Bill years of joy and fellowship.  He was also a founding member of the prestigious Ike Terry Sunday School class, where he made many of his lifelong friends.  He loved Pam, his boys, his four grandchildren, and persevered through some tough family hardships.  Recently Bill moved to American House in Niceville, FL. His life was greatly enriched by its staff and residents and his family is forever grateful for the time he had there.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Pamela Hulbert Dannelly, and his son William Christopher Dannelly.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in law, Jeff and Jennifer Dannelly, Niceville, FL; daughter-in-law, Kathy Dannelly, Duluth GA; and grandchildren, William, Emerson, Grayson and Harper Dannelly.  A small memorial service and celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at a time to be decided.  The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at The Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Florida, the Manor of Niceville, and Twin Cities Hospital for showing Bill such love and respect while he was with them.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of Pensacola First United Methodist Church.
