Wilma P. Edwards
1940 - 2019
Wilma Edwards, age 79, of Niceville, Florida passed away on November 8, 2019. She was born to Sam and Nettie Rhymer on January 12, 1940 in Forest City, North Carolina.
Wilma dedicated 34 years working for the government at both Columbus Air Force Base and Eglin Air Force Base.
She loved the competitiveness, as well as the camaraderie of being out on the golf course several days a week with her friends. She was an avid North Carolina sports fan and loved cheering them on. But most importantly she loved animals; especially PUGS!
She is predeceased by her husband, Don Edwards; her parents Sam and Hettie Rhymer; brothers William, David, Max, and Carl, and sisters Leona and Nancy all of North Carolina.
She is survived by two sons, Sam Edwards and wife, Kim, of Killen, Alabama and Richie Edwards and wife, Carla, of Niceville; grandchildren Caroline, Tara, Kayla, and Trent; great-grandchildren Madden, Davis, and Maybree; two sisters, Carolyn and Sudie; and her beloved pug, Molly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 P.M. at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Niceville.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
